Excited to announce that I've written a trilogy, "Bright & Shiny: A History of Animation at Award Shows,” exploring the medium across the #Oscars, #Emmys, #Annies, & more. Vol 1 and 2 are available now. Vol 3 is coming soon. Learn more at https://t.co/LuWrOx1YO4.
I'd love to see creator Leslie Bohem revisit the property, but it seems unlikely since "Taken" isn't officially streaming anywhere... you can watch the whole series on YouTube, however! https://t.co/g2FN4WzCHQ
With #DisclosureDay coming out this week, now seems like as good a time as any to remind people about the 2002 Spielberg-produced miniseries, #Taken. Despite winning the Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries, few people talk about it over twenty years later.
Maybe that's because whenever somebody says, "Taken," they're thinking about the Liam Neeson thriller. "Taken" is an underrated sci-fi epic, though, spanning decades of conspiracies turned realities and family drama.
The good news is that the Academy is finally introducing an Oscar for Stunt Design. The bad news is that it won’t arrive in time to recognize Kenji Tanigaki’s #TheFurious. My review: https://t.co/CCtcHHxPF0
The “Ocarina of Time” remake is officially coming in 2026! We also got “Kingdom Hearts IV” footage, meaning we’ll likely be able to play it in 2036 (if we’re lucky).
Throughout #DisclosureDay, I was overcome with the sense that I was not only watching something important, but that I was part of something larger, and everyone else in the theater was taking it in with me. My review: https://t.co/iWu3eHGR5y
#DisclosureDay is the spiritual successor to “Close Encounters” we hoped for. Like that classic, alien life might be at the center, but the film is more about humanity and our connection to the unknown. Thrilling, thought-provoking, and awe-inspiring, this is top-tier Spielberg.
Now that #Schmigadoon! has won the #Tony for Best Musical, can Apple please give us Season 3 of the show? The season and its 25 songs are already written. All the creators need is the green light. The world needs this more than The Family Plan 3.
@NextBestPicture The Amazing Digitial Circus is #5 at the box office, but I’m pretty sure it’s not eligible for Best Animated Feature since the current rules exclude “episodes extracted from a larger series.” Do you think there’s still a loophole to Oscar eligibility?
The Amazing #DigitalCircus: The Last Act has already made over $7 million at the box office, but is it eligible for the Best Animated Feature Oscar? https://t.co/le65LUF7Jz
"I Knew It, I Knew It" from #ToyStory5 has been released as a single. Will the song score Taylor Swift an Oscar nomination? https://t.co/IPTTmI8fJ7 @taylorswift13@Pixar@toystory
Vicky Jenson (Shrek, Shark Tale) and Lorna Cook (Spirit) previously co-directed nominees in the category, but Satrapi made history as the first woman to receive a nomination there.
RIP Marjane Satrapi (1969-2026), the author of “Persepolis” and co-director of its 2007 film adaptation. Satrapi would become the first female director to be nominated for Best Animated Feature.
My interview with #HazbinHotel songwriters Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg, who shared which tune from Season 2 they're submitting for #Emmy consideration. https://t.co/eDeqlFoC9O @SamHaft@HELLAVERSE@PrimeVideo
