A lot has happened in the past year. Multiple loved ones are having health struggles, my mother had multiple surgeries, my fiancé received an unmissable work opportunity (which required us to leave the state for a year), and there have been many weddings to catch up from 2020.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday! I had myself a flu-Christmas, 🤧🤒 because I’m living in a new town for my guy’s work (read: a veritable Petri dish of new germs) 😑

Backstory is all that’s happened in your characters’ lives before we meet them. Your characters have a past. Share too much too fast-it pulls the reader back in time & slows down the story’s pacing. Share too little too late-it leaves the reader confused & your characters hollow.

Cranking out Book II ASAP, but I have the rewrite bug — BAD. 88K words so far, but I have rewritten the beginning 5+ times. Finally almost happy with it 🤔 The bar exam rescheduling (It was in October!) really botched my publishing schedule ;( Hoping y’all can bear with me ❤️🦁
