@aworldofgoods @bigskybabs …I know a waitress that dated one of the chefs… She’s now working in an unrelated job, her now-husband is head chef, and they have 2 kids together! But she would definitely agree with you :P Don’t be rude to staff! Ever! They can normally get back at you in a variety of ways!
@celticaurora@MarikoAnnu@ask_aubry …I did the same… didn’t “give back” the ring, but I did pay back half of the value (court-ordered!) :P I got his stuff to the door, and told him that he wasn’t welcome inside. I wasn’t going to do everything for him to live his life as he wanted with no thought given to mine!
@ShannonArtWrite Uh… I’d say it would be worse to keep quiet, accept the book and never read it, than say “I’m legally blind… how, exactly, did you want me to read it? Have you considered audiobook or Kindle formats…?”
Watching Gardening Australia, and Costa said “I am bearing gifts… he’s Greek… cue laughter from my household *chuckles*
Old saying? “Beware Greeks bearing gifts”, based on the Trojan War…
@_dangerousbeans *nods* oh, yes! I only mention the multiple birth aspects because I challenge others to try to deny that I am an identical twin :P
…also, identical twins normally have at least a little variation in their DNA… my sister and I? None! They checked 3 times! …in the mid-80s :P
@_dangerousbeans To such people, I normally ask if they know about identical twins/triplets/etc… If they know about the DNA intricacies involved, there… ;)
Note to others: I do, in fact, know… because I am an identical twin…
@TaylaOCE@bordie Uh… from a literal identical twin… I can see some similarities, but I could definitely tell you apart… you could be fraternal twins, but… you have different smiles… different eyes and eyelids…
@CattyWampus44 @spoonsnspells @npo_speechie @Tara_Moss I normally respond “it’s ‘walk 100m *without pain*’… if you can do that? Great! But I can’t… but if you can see pain? I’m sure you could get a job at the hospital!” :P
@TrishHepworth Well… yesterday…? I just went to the next suburb over from where I live… got two books… and then, in the afternoon? I went to a talk by one of the authors, and got their book signed! ;) And no, that author does *not* live in Canberra!
@TrishHepworth Mine… is 3 or 4 kilometres away? And my nearest public library is… the one close to you, actually! I do think you are in the better spot :P
