What is it about White Guilt that makes the topic of race so contentious in American society today?
Join us 6:30PM, November 5 at NTHS, for a film viewing and conversation with the filmmaker Eli Steele to discuss this topic in detail.

Eli Steele on point as usual. Think for yourself. Join us November 5th for the screening of the film 'White Guilt' at New Trier High School. Ticket information below. https://t.co/9tn8pjWcZ5
Usually the best response to people like this is to ignore them. But my father, Shelby Steele, who grew up under segregation in Chicago, and I have dealt with this behavior for decades, and this video gives you an eye-opening example of what it's been like.
This woman is furious that a community group in the leafy north suburbs of Chicago, New Trier Neighbors (@NTNeighbors), is screening my new documentary, "White Guilt," at New Trier High School on November 5.
In the video, she blasts @NTNeighbors for hosting Charlie Kirk (they actually did not but probably wish they could have) and calls Kirk one of "those disgusting white boys, racist, misogynistic white boys," and smiles as she recounts how she found out he was shot. She then attacks me, my racial identity, and falsely accuses me of platforming Nick Fuentes. She calls my film a "stupid movie that is full of Islamophobia" and "a continuation of the great replacement theory." Then she says she feels "really bad for the workers of color who have to clean up that vile auditorium" after we leave. The kicker is the end of the video when she claims that reading Ibram X. Kendi gave her wisdom and authority.
She hasn't seen the film. But truth is not her objective here. Her only desire is to brand me and the film as racist so her neighbors fall in line. She is already trying to drum up support for protests to intimidate people. That's white guilt intimidation at work. We owe nobody an explanation. The film will be shown as is and we invite all, including this woman, to see the film for themselves.

@JohnHMcWhorter When we formed ten years ago we shared widely this @JohnHMcWhorter piece: https://t.co/mawNteAeu2. Another must-read (apologies for the paywall). He was truly tip of the spear ...
If you want to understand why New Trier Neighbors formed, read The Atlantic piece "Why I Quite the Tenure Track" by Tyler Austin Harper, posted below by @JohnHMcWhorter. New Trier embraced the same identity politics-laced activities as Bates did. New Trier Neighbors, like Professors McWhorter and Taylor, thinks identity politics is anti-educational and that our schools should do better for our kids and community. https://t.co/bfur2V4LXC
This is utterly perfect and should stand forever as a go-to representation of a major problem with education in our era. It also happens to give a look-in at what I describe in my piece today about Arday. https://t.co/AmWZyw6tZL
Wilmette Park District confirms the group hosting Drag Queen Story Hour was issued a permit to hold said Drag Queen Story Hour, targeting families with kids ages 0-4, in a public Wilmette park. The registration website for the event (https://t.co/bREjJnLPcZ) still indicates they are charging $18 per family (despite what this memo below says).
