But time and again, for Bangladesh, their contribution has been more than those so-called intellectuals of Bangladesh.

বিডিআর বিদ্রোহের ঘটনায় সেনাবাহিনীর তদন্ত রিপোর্ট ছুড়ে ফেলে দিয়েছিলেন সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। পরে তার নির্দেশনা মতো রির্পোট করতে বলেছিলেন।

কিন্তু পরের বারও সঠিক তদন্ত রির্পোট দেওয়ায় তাকে ৩৬ দিন ডিজিএফআইয়ের আয়নাঘরে আটকে রেখে নির্যাতন করা হয়।

পরে একটি মিথ্যা মামলায় তাকে ৫ বছর বন্দি রাখা হয়। সম্প্রতি বেসরকারি টেলিভিশন চ্যানেল আইয়ের টকশোতে এসব তথ্য জানান সাবেক সেনা কর্মকর্তা ক্যাপ্টেন ও বিডিআর বিদ্রোহের তদন্তের সমন্বয়ককারী অফিসার ড. খান সুবায়েল বিন রফিক।

This is pure craziness. Names taken out of a hat. Are we back in a situation where anyone can file a criminal case in #bangladesh against anyone else, even without a scintilla of evidence, presumably due to some personal or political grievance? How are Shahriar Kabir, president of the Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, historian Muntasir Mamun and Imran H Sarker, convener of the Ganajagaran Mancha, in any way complicit in the deaths at the Hefazet rally back in 2013. This is abusive and highly intimidating. It must stop. Why is the government, law minister and home minister so completely silent?
