People selling alcohol are making a profit at your expense. Governments around the world will not ban it because the manufacturers pay handsomely in taxes. It is all up to an individual to regulate themselves - @VBhangyi

There are people because they do not participate in the alcoholism, through them you get to see that there are people who do not live by the bottle and help you to see another world. If all your friends are senior drinkers, you are going to have problems - @cnsubugamugga

We have different levels of tolerance for alcohol. Alcohol is not food. You do not have to take it. You do not have to take it to fit into a group. Some of your friends are seasoned drinkers and others, it is a routine. One has to be careful - Vanessio Bhangyi

Many times, alcoholics want to stop. But they find that they cannot. They are hooked and drink compulsively. People drink for the effect and not the taste. Unless somebody finds a substitute that gives them the same effect, they will never stop - Isharaza Mwebaze

I am an alcoholic. I have no taken a sip of alcohol in about 10 years but I am still an alcoholic. What that means is that I lack the ability to control how much I drink. This has nothing to do with ones's social status. It is a physiological thing - Isharaza Mwebaze

When we lose control over the alcohol, that is when it goes to the extreme. Alcoholism is a progressive illness (it is a disease). People do start out as social drinkers and end up in full-blown alcoholism - Isharaza Mwebaze

I have seen respectable men leave a home, go to work and return home looking like they had slept in a pigsty. These are drunkards who fall in ditches. The bottle eventually controls you and chains you up. How do you control the situation at that point? - @cnsubugamugga
