Not meant to be a playmaker? Why? Does that mean he can't drive forward? Or progress the ball by breaking lines or passing it forward?

Last season, for Monaco he averaged 75.20 touches compared to 50 touches vs Strasbourg, 0.22 assists vs 0.00, 0.17 xA vs 0.02, 46.60 successful passes vs 35.00, 1.44 chances created vs 0.00, 3.64 tackles vs 1.00 and so on.

His statistics from that game are poor when compared with his own from last season...

Extremely quiet first half, more effective in the second half. However, as the data suggests, he is one dimensional, knock it past the opposition and cross (which he's good at).
