I'm teaching a course on Gothic fiction and we're studying the Gothic chapbook next week. Honestly, even though we're working on The Monk this week, the chapbooks are quite simply the most wonderful.
Does anyone remember the year the IGA (International Gothic Association) conference was held at Strawberry Hill in Twickenham? Was it 1996? Is there a copy of the program still in existence?
Everytime I read Gaskell's A New Introduction to Bibliography, I experience a thrill associated with not only finding my true passion, but understanding the importance of my work. Very comforting in the midst of a tumultuous shift in the direction my university is taking.
