I think the most likely scenario would be a massive multi day/week internet outage, much of the www is run on centralized clouds like AWS. Rogue bot swarms deployed by foreign actors or via bad alignment
All the smartest people I know think there's a significant chance of economic collapse and prolonged power outages happening in the very near future.
If your politics doesn't account for that possibility and doesn't prepare you and your friends for it, your priorities are off.

@Mach_Tactics a shrinking middle class is not the same as a non-existent one. America still has a very large middle class, both statistically and observationally. you’re either farming for clicks or you haven’t actually been here
Amazon banning agents is the first opportunity I've seen since Amazon was founded for a startup to create an Amazon competitor. People will want agents to buy stuff for them. It will be one of the main use cases. And they won't want to use some Amazon-supplied agent to do it.
most people do not understand risk/reward.
building it is only evil if there is no upside, which there clearly is. if AGI helps cure/alleviate the suffering of millions alive today and in the future then the risk/reward is very much worth the ev of 800 mill dead
if Dario Amodei thinks p(doom) is 10%, it means he expects to murder 800 million people as a statistical average, which makes him the most evil person in human history by a long shot
@RDMellish normies want receipts and why shouldn’t they? they have been repeatedly told that AI is going to take their jobs and then shortly afterwards kill them.
