The Federal Government has allocated $811mil for offshore detention. With 239 people currently detained, that’s $3.4mil per person.
This Government has prioritised locking up innocent lives over giving people a living wage. #Budget2021#auspol
The Treasurer can talk about “skills”, “jobs” & “innovation” all he likes - but in the background is a higher education sector burning; what should be the engine room of all these things abandoned by the Govt and immeasurable expertise lost with 17,000 out of work. #Budget2021

Education should NEVER be for profit. We need free & universal public education from early childhood to retirement.
Expenses under the higher education sub-function are expected to decrease by 8.3% from 2020-21 to 2021-22 and decrease by 9.3% in real terms from 2021-22 to 2024-25. #budget21#fundunifairly#saveourstudents
Around 10% cut in uni funding.
Those cuts will sting 250,000 workers, the next generation and our 4th largest export industry
Who’s going to research the next vaccine?
