🗣️ We recently had students from @NewcastleSU@NCLCollege@NUstudents attend our 'shape of the city' event, where we discussed how the city can be improved to encourage students to stay here once graduating.
This week's SELLL book sale raised over £800 which will go to DEC to support the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Thank you to everyone who donated. 📚

Trans students – you are valid and welcome on this campus. Don’t let the loudest nasty voice tell you otherwise. You are an integral part of the university, and I am glad to share this space with you.
Lastly, being authentic and working with integrity is so so important. You have to remain true to yourself and your morals to remain confident in your decisions. (5/5)
With managing relationships, you have to remember that whilst you may be in your early 20s your insight is valid and your experiences are important - it’s what got you elected! Don’t allow someone to invalidate you on that basis (4/5)
Imposter’s syndrome can creep in - you’re in high level meetings representing the student body as a graduate, new to working in the sector. Navigating this and remembering you provide valuable insight is important. You should be treated with equal respect. (3/5)
You learn to accept that with the platform you’re given, not everyone is going to like you or what you stand for. Some will look up to you, whilst others look down. It’s impossible to please everyone - you must stick to who you are and what you believe is right (2/5)
