The society has made a donation to the Royal British Legion in his memory from the funds raised from our raffle last Thursday.
We will remember them. Forever.
Today we remember our friend and ex-President (2016/17) 2nd lieutenant Max George of 5 Battalion The Rifles, who on this day last year was tragically killed during a training exercise on Salisbury Plain.
Another vile attack on our Great British hero & flying ace Douglas Bader.
"Bader was racist, snobbish, brutally unpleasant to anybody he considered of lower socio-economic order,โ Macintyre said.
I say "Bader was a hero and inspiration to millions".
- from the Primrose League to various other organisations and institutions. NUCS holds an annual Primrose Dinner to celebrate his life and individuals who continue his legacy today in politics - tickets for the Primrose Dinner 2023 are on sale now
Today we celebrate Primrose Day.
This is the anniversary of the death of the British statesman and prime minister Benjamin Disraeli, 1st Earl of Beaconsfield, on 19 April 1881.
Disraeli defined the modern Tory party, providing it with true one-nation conservatismโฆ
(tory democracy) - designed to strike back against Whiggish forces in British society that had for the longest time come to dominate politics.
He has been commemorated and his legacy continued by many on the right of the conservative movement in Britain
'Liberal opinions are very convenient opinions for the rich and powerful. They ensure enjoyment and are opposed to self-sacrifice'
Today is Primrose Day, when we commemorate Benjamin Disraeli, novelist, PM, father of Tory Democracy and a prophet for our times
After seeing @NU_Tories hold a showing of Cromwell (1970), we just had to do it too! Join us on Wednesday to watch Cromwell, telling the story of the English civil war and Parliamentโs struggle against the Crown.
