It is sad testament to the brutality of the Myanmar junta that pro-democracy protesters must resort to a "blood protest" to honor the hundreds of people slaughtered by the generals. https://t.co/yBI2nInqhx
The Burmese people are demanding a say in their country's future, yet the military regime continues its violent crackdown by repressing and killing peaceful protestors. This violence will not go unanswered.
A dangerous development :Myanmar’s military rulers seem to want the country to go dark by having "ordered internet service providers to shut down wireless broadband services until further notice." That should alert us all for the need to step up pressure.

Dear UN!!
-WE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO LOSE THE LIVES OF OUR INNOCENT CIVILIANS.
-IF THIS IS NOT A SYSTEMATIC KILLING, THEN WHAT IS A SYSTEMATIC KILLINGS?
-IF THIS IS NOT INTENTIONAL, WHAT IS INTENTIONAL?
Could there be more effective evidences?

The United States strongly condemns the military coup in Burma and the security forces’ brutal killing of unarmed people. We urge every Member State to tell the Burmese military that this violence will not be tolerated. https://t.co/4NLXg8mESi
I was overwhelmed today as I watched Myanmar's UN ambassador's remarkable act of courage at the UN. Despite enormous pressure to do otherwise, he spoke up for the people of Myanmar and against an illegal coup. It's time for the world to answer that courageous call with action.
