@WildcatReport The thing that separates athletes from you and me is that Boo probably isn’t thinking about B1G PotY award at all. He’s thinking about the tourneys ahead and how he can get better every time he’s on the court. That’s what they do. We normal humans just stew in our missed chances.
@theficouple Simple. The top cities people are leaving are the ones with the most highly educated, highly skilled workers in dynamic but competitive industries. If you’re not good enough, you won’t get hired/paid and you can’t afford to live there. People leave cuz they can’t hack it.
@RevDJEsq Or maybe he realizes his actual weak coaching skills will become way apparent at a school with an athletic dept and fanbase that won’t coddle him and excuse his poor attitude.
I can’t help but think… how PISSED do you think Fitz is to see Braun not only succeed on the field but also capture the hearts of all the players, fans and alumni? 😅
@RevDJEsq I’m also of the opinion that college sports is just another corrupt arm of American capitalism in which the youth of America is just used and abused and then thrown away by the very society they are told to work hard to earn a place in. It all needs to go.
@RevDJEsq There’s more to life than college sports… and if you claim to be an ACADEMIC institution and it turns out there are numerous people who you are essentially sponsoring to attend your place of learning that don’t feel safe there… that’s criminal. Immoral. Doesn’t deserve to exist
Only one way to end this - suspend all NU athletics (obviously still honor all athletics scholarships but don’t offer any new ones in any sports) and then tear it all down. Perhaps it’s time to leave D1 if we can’t be trusted to run responsible programs.
The one thing I can tell you is that this whole story has poisoned my perception of NU athletics for a long long time. I have a 5 year old son I was excited to bring into my NU fandom… now I think he’ll just have to discover it himself. A generation of fans prob gone now.
@AlHollywood1 I don’t think he’s ever leaving the program, but I think his days as HC are numbered. You might be right, though, that may not happen until after the new stadium is done…
Looks like we’ve been shown what we all suspected - the program is broken and Fitz is partially responsible for it. Time for someone else to come in and pick up the pieces. Get ready for a looooong, unfun era of NU football.
@RevDJEsq @epnohelty@conorsen To argue that no one will want to live in Oakland because there’s nothing to do now that the teams are gone is absurd. Are you telling me people are clamoring to move to, say, Cleveland because all of its home town teams ensure there’s always something to do? Lol
