When I met him, he said, Mr. Quraishi, Harish has told me about your conversation, last night. If that is what you think, I'll commit suicide... I was shocked. I was not prepared for this at all. I was only bringing to the notice the loose talk which his ministers were indulging in. It took me 15-20 minutes to calm him. I said we admire you. RBI has BARRED banks from charging customers for SMS alerts sent for:
- Compliance, Awareness, or promotional purposes 💥🇮🇳

This may lead to loss of up to ₹300 crore in fee income for large lenders🤯

Most banks were recovering costs via ₹15-18 per quarter fees.

Banks likely to absorb this or find indirect routes.
