What should be done to advocate for surgeon musculoskeletal health, promote ergonomic training, and promote healthy mindsets? We found that a substantial number of orthopedic surgeons experience work-related musculoskeletal injury, contributing to short or long term disability.
Vasireddi et al.'s systematic review found that at least 40% of orthopaedic surgeons report experiencing a work-related musculoskeletal disorder, with the head, neck, back, forearm, wrist, & hand being the most common locations. Read in #CORR#orthoTwitter https://t.co/L8QgpA709N
Awesome work by our team to highlight the ergonomic issues that are common among orthopaedic surgeons, but (unfortunately) rarely discussed. More attention/advocacy is needed to promote longevity for ourselves as well as our fantastic APPs and OR staff! #orthotwitter
