I have just learnt that the kangaroo military court in Makindye has yet again declined to grant bail to our comrades who are stuck at Kitalya and other prisons for over three years- despite presenting substantive sureties including Members of Parliament. The military court now claims that these comrades, some of whom were picked from their homes, do not have fixed places of residence. For opposing Museveni and his military regime, these comrades have paid such a heavy price. Even in the midst of all pain and frustration, I want to encourage all of us never to give up the fight for freedom. Oppression never has the last laugh. Eventually, light will shine on Uganda!

Last night, we visited the streets of Kampala to share some food with our people who are homeless. Only those who have slept hungry for lack of food or slept on the street before would understand the pain which these people go through every day. We thought it was important to share with them the first supper of the new year and give them words of encouragement. It is also important to raise their plight, because they end up on the streets for different reasons. Such people must be thought about as we plan and strive to build a nation where all citizens live in dignity.
I was forcefully chased by SFC from the accesing the ongoing Commonwealth Conference.SFC soldiers had 7 handwritten Opposition names including mine not allowed inside&grabbed me at entrance &strangely detained for 30 minutes sorrounded by SFC who later instructed me to match out
Every struggle has unsung heroes, and ours has been no exception from day one. I will highlight two of them today.
In July last year when we unveiled the land at Kavule, we had acquired only two plots there. Of course we took the regime by surprise and they immediately panicked. One of their immediate responses was to approach two neighbors who owned buildings in front of our land and asked to buy them. Apparently they wanted to station security operatives there to monitor our operations, like they have done around my home in Magere where they have bought off several neighboring houses and plots and stationed operatives there.
Certainly if the regime had bought those two buildings, we would have been incapacitated to do much on the land we had acquired, because they would literally be seeing everything going on at our offices!
The regime offered much more money than we had. But guess what? These two individuals (names withheld) stood their ground and refused to sell to the regime because they believed in our cause. "Abantu n'abagambaki?" one of them- an old man asked.
They chose to be patient, withstanding so much pressure until we got the money to pay them. One of them had to lie to the people who were approaching him constantly that we had already paid a deposit, even when we had not. Those are the two buildings you see at the front, which we remodeled into offices. Those two individuals, ladies and gentlemen, are indeed unsung heroes of our cause!
Of course we went ahead to purchase another building which was residential and now houses several offices, as well as another vacant plot- giving us a total of six plots. (As we said at the launch, most of the titles have already been transferred into NUP and the remaining ones are in the pipeline). I thought it's important to highlight that many people out there may not stand at the frontline, but they are in the background making sacrifices and doing good things for their country!
This is comrade Haruna Lukyamuzi, aged 23. He was abducted by armed men on 14th April from Ndejje and he is still under incommunicado detention. The criminal regime continues to abduct and torture our people in order to drive the population into silence. They forget that repression only leads to more resistance. The people of Uganda will eventually speak out and speak very loud! For now, let us continue demanding for the unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience, including this brother Haruna!

Attended the burial of maama Nantongo Elsie aka 'maama muzungu', a strong supporter of ours, in Kiboga District. The late Maama Muzungu donated her house which the National Unity Platform used to establish its first office in the District. May her soul rest in peace.
In a related development, comrade Shakirah Nambozo alias #ShukyWaBobi has been abducted from her home in Kawempe by armed men travelling in a Toyota mini-van (Drone). Her whereabouts at present are unknown. #BringBackOurPeople
Upon returning to the country this morning, I proceeded with the team to Luzira Women's Prison where we checked on our dear sister and comrade Olivia Lutaaya who has been under detention for more than two years. Even after all this time under illegal detention without trial, Olivia has remained strong. She continues to protest against her detention on the orders of a military court. She was encouraged to know that many people are speaking out against her predicament and calling for her release, and the release of all other political prisoners.

Here's what Gen. Museveni's thugs did to our comrade Mwesigwa Eric, who we've been looking for these past two weeks. They abducted him & tortured him asking what Bobi Wine and NUP are planning to do to "overthrow the government". What a group of cold-hearted criminals!!!
