Like you’ve heard me say multiple times, the RCMP does not charge anybody with a crime. The RCMP works the file and recommends charges to the Provincial Crown and the Crown (Canada’s version of a Prosecutor) will file charges if they feel evidence exists to substantiate the charges, thank you @NWCavalryman for this great video. PS: let me just say I also agree with you that this is an embarrassment to the force, and I have raised several concerns to the force, including a complaint directly to Bob Paulson. I left for a reason. The members at the detachment level are incredible. I loved working with the people at the detachment level, the members are awesome people but once you get to the white shirt level and above all bets are off. When you work in law-enforcement, you should be having to worry about the people in front of you putting a knife into you, not the white shirts behind you.
