LAST TIDBIT FOR AREA 10: The retained chinook per angler trip is 0.0626, and the overall mark rate is 70.6 percent and 50,0 percent on legal-size fish in the test fishery boat.

MORE DATA FOR AREA 10: The season total is 379 boats with 559 anglers kept 35, and released 443 and 199 for total of 877 (this includes seven boats with 14 anglers Nov. 4-5 in Everett Derby who caught no fish).

DATA FOR AREA 10: 43 boats w 84 anglers Nov. 1-5 kept 4 hatchery chinook & released 49 hatchery sub-legal size & 22 unmarked sub-legal size; 202 w 328 Nov. 6-10 kept 16 & released 206 & 93; 107 w 113 kept 15 & released 188 & 84; 20 w 20 Nov. 20-26 had no fish.

C. Puget Sound (Area 10) indicates w guideline of nearly double that of past years, it’s likely salmon fishery in Area 10 will continue on. WDFW says no discussions to take action as what is keeping Area 10 running smoothly so far is very little effort. Closure date is Feb. 28.

On Wednesday, a check from the Point Defiance Boathouse showed 15 boats with 18 anglers taking home 11 chinook. Word has it the Clay Banks, Flats and Owens Beach are money during early morning low tide and the afternoon on flood tide at Point Dalco on V-Island.

With an updated run of close to 2-million chum its time to get the boat out to places like Hood Canal and So. Puget Sound to pursue these hard fighting fish! On another note standby for 2018 derby schedule coming out soon!
