Great opportunity for our Director, Dave Raval and Chair, David Lennan to be invited to No.10 today to meet with Energy and Net Zero Advisors.
On an important day for unlocking growth, the NWHC were pleased to share their innovative solutions to support the #WarmHomesPlan.
👏 Great to see Shanly Homes leading the way by protecting loft insulation in every new home – helping families use their lofts safely and more energy efficiently.

NWHC's @DaveRaval had a fantastic conversation with Jenny Danson at the Healthy Homes Hub, especially on how a lack of proper loft insulation protection could cost the UK billions in remedial works. We'll post the full conversation soon!

NWHC’s @DaveRaval was at the @LibDems Conference last week. The message was clear: innovative solutions, such as loft insulation protection, are the easiest, least risky and most affordable way for families and policymakers to permanently cut bills and reduce fuel poverty.
Our research shows that if the Government continues to fit loft insulation WITHOUT protection, as it's currently planning to, then it could waste up to £3bn of taxpayers money. Just as previous governments already have done.
Failure to properly address faulty household insulation risks undermining the government's warm homes plan and wasting over £3bn, the National Warm Homes Council (@NWHC_) has warned https://t.co/TO7cmIfk5l
🚨URGENT ACTION NEEDED TO PREVENT DEADLY OVERHEATING 🚨
We need to get serious about keeping homes safe in summer, not just warm in winter - read about our call for a Cool Homes Plan below 👇

To read more about Loft Insulation Protection, check out this article by @tomcollinsworcs MP in the House Magazine, exploring why we have the least well-insulated homes in Western Europe, below:👇

Timely piece from @Bill_Esterson rightly highlighting that “making our homes warmer, healthier and cheaper to heat should be a no-brainer.” However, as we boost energy efficiency, protecting core measures like loft insulation is essential for effective and long-lasting retrofit🏡

Warmer, drier homes save lives, tackle fuel poverty and save the NHS millions.

👷♀️The @LibDems have called for an urgent home insulation plan, and Anna Sabine MP isn’t waiting around to get stuck in...
Delighted to bring Anna to Foundations Up in Coleford, to show how loft insulation is fitted and explain just how vital it is to protect it.
Delighted to see NWHC’s evidence referenced in @CommonsESNZ report into Retrofitting Homes for Net Zero
As stated, UK homes are among the least energy efficient in Europe. Insulation is a "critical technology", but more must be done to ensure it’s protected, not just installed🏡
Pleased to hear @LibDemDavid championing insulation as a solution to fuel poverty
To deliver long-term impact, loft insulation must be protected, not just installed✅
Thrilled to have his support as the NWHC pushes for lasting solutions to cut bills & boost energy efficiency⚡️
Fuel poverty is one of the biggest issues impacting Wales. Not only is it impacting family incomes, but it is also having a huge impact on the NHS.
Last week, I outlined Liberal Democrat plans for an emergency insulation programme and to restore the winter fuel allowance.
“The previous Labour Govt, back in 2008, started a mass loft insulation scheme but a lack of insulation protection means that most needs doing again. We urge the Govt to take a long-term view so we don’t repeat the same mistakes of the past and waste taxpayer money”
Achieving the Govt’s #WarmHomesPlan requires “a joined-up approach to engage the public, scale up the supply chain and upgrade people’s homes”
NWHC Director Dave Raval offered his thoughts on a recent letter from energy companies to Minister @Miatsf

"Homes in Wales are among the least energy-efficient in Europe"
Join @LibDemDavid as he visits a local business to see how loft insulation protection prevents degradation, making homes warmer and more energy-efficient
That could save up to £380 a year for the average household!
Tom raised a key point: Public wariness of insulation and fabric improvements is real, but it can be overcome through collaboration and trust-building.
As he noted in his House Magazine article, a smart, human-first approach is crucial for lasting change.
Great to have @tomcollinsworcs join our recent #WarmHomesPlan roundtable, which brought together policymakers and SMEs to explore how we can scale up warm, energy-efficient homes across the UK.
Other takeaways included:
Enhance collaboration across industries 🤝
Prioritise health in the #WarmHomesPlan 🏡
Provide fiscal clarity for businesses & consumers 💼
Empower action through tech & innovation ⚙️
Great to host a roundtable on the Govt's #WarmHomesPlan, bringing together policymakers, MPs and SMEs to discuss delivering warm, efficient homes at scale.💡
Updating the Home Energy Model and Future Homes Standard is key to sustainable homes and avoiding immediate retrofits.
