Paul Henry (1877-1958) Launching the Currach (1911). Born in Belfast and trained in Paris under Whistler and Alphonse Mucha, Henry's Achill sojourn from 1910 until 1919 was his ultimate legacy, single-handedly casting an image of Ireland that helped create an identity
Charles Vincent Lamb (1893-1964) Carraroe Landscape (1933). Lamb was one of a number of Irish painters in the early 20th century who found inspiration in the people and place of the west of Ireland. Painted in Brittany for a period, and exhibited worldwide.
