Two King Arthur class locomotives, 1926

Two new King Arthur class 4-6-0 locomotives being towed by an 0-6-0 locomotive number 103. These locomotives were manufactured in Glasgow but will be used on the Southern Railway.

The locomotives in this class were named after characters from Arthurian legends as they served Cornwall, Somerset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, which had connections with the legends.

74 locomotives were made and they served the Southern Railway for 30 years.

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48713 runs light engine tender first over the A444 Nuneaton, on it's way to pick up it's train in Abbey Street sidings, in early 1966.

Based at the former LNWR shed in Nuneaton, it has crossed under the West Coast Main Line by using the line connecting the turntable with the Leicester line. It has then reversed at Midland Junction and is now reversing back to Abbey Street sidings.

The tunnel sculpting is complete!! Tested it out and it’s going well! Was gonna paint it green like I usually do and then some moss and trees but this time I’m going for static grass… further updates soon!

Update on the hill tunnel: chicken wired the base then coated in more plaster, just got make and attach another tunnel entrance on the other side then it’s ready for paint!

The hill/tunnel expands! The tunnel portal is now fixed in, next is to finish up the brick pattern on it and then build up the hill above the tunnel!
