It's an active weather week across the country with flash flood risks along portions of the East Coast, the Rockies, and along the Gulf Coast. Dangerous heat is also expanding across the southern, western, and central states through the weekend.
It will be exceptionally hot across the Southeast and Southern Plains where 105-115 degree heat indices can be expected. With the addition of 75-80 degree overnight lows, heat related illnesses will be of concern over the next few days, especially for those without adequate cooling or hydration.

The Tropical Storm Warning was extended eastward across the Florida Panhandle and westward to the Terrebonne/Lafourche Parish Line in Louisiana.
In addition, the Storm Surge Watch has been replaced with a Coastal Flood Warning issued by the local forecast office. Minor to moderate coastal flooding is still expected to occur between the Mississippi/Alabama Border and the Mouth of the Mississippi River, with peak values up to 4 ft above ground level.
