Lefty left by Labour. Enthusiastic mother. Opera oik, meliorist, Laandoner. Pro GNC, but not at the expense of girls and women. Human rights are human rights.
It's quite shocking to see so many MPs totally heartbroken over scenarios in which, were a boring adult human female the one saying "I don't feel safe", they'd just fire off a template email telling them that's not a legitimate feeling
So shared accommodation for victims of domestic violence in Australia can be for men and women, I assume just so long as the men say they are women.
The women we are told don't care but of course in Australia if they say they care, they can expect to be severely punished.
I am very glad, for all its shortcomings, that I live in the UK.
@treesey Always piously jawing about the failings of the judiciary when its decisions don’t support his favoured causes, and yet with a hand still outstretched to crowdfund the GLP’s attempts to “use the law for a better world”.
And he can’t even spell “suffragettes” correctly either
Sudden Onset Butch Lesbian Concern is so insulting to lesbians. Weaponising a lie - as the trans do so often - to suit their cause. How dare John pretend that's his concern. He just wants to get his tackle into our spaces.
And he pretends to think that the provisions of the Equality Act won't exist if MPs reject the Code. He must surely know the law has been the law since at least 2010.
If I was made king for a day, I'd issue a decree requiring @thelizcarr's doc to be played in the House of Commons just before PMQs. And I'd make attendance mandatory for MPs.
We expect the afternoon session of the JR brought by Sex Matters against the National Police Chief's Council and the British Transport Police to resume at 2 pm.
Abbreviations are in the thread below.
From attending the Women and equalities committee last week we heard this first hand. It is startling that only 2MPs on the committee understand the law and that women need single sex spaces for safety as well as dignity and privacy.
It’s curious that women are mentioned so infrequently on a committee dedicated to their needs.

Payne: “You could address some of the concerns from the Royal Colleges about this bill, but it means you wouldn’t be allowed to use the Parliament Act…”
Malthouse (lead Edwards ally): “I would be concerned if that were the case, because then I think we’ll just get the same repeated opponents. I don’t think that would be right. The Commons has put the bill through enormous scrutiny.”
Payne: “So you’re saying to MPs who support assisted dying, ‘You should not amend this bill.’ That is your message now.”
Malthouse: “Well, I think by amending the bill…”
Payne: “Straight yes or no.”
Malthouse: “Yeah. Yeah.”
We are at the Royal Courts of Justice today. We hope to live tweet the judicial review brought by Sex Matters against the National Police Chiefs' Council and the British Transport Police.

Pretty certain most instances of trans inclusion operate outside the law and/or long established rules
Here it’s strip searches in police custody, but could easily relate to safeguarding, sentencing guidelines, age restrictions, single sex spaces …
Good idea - starts something like this:
- Sex is real, binary and immutable, you fricken idiots
- Sex based rights exist because of female biology and male based patterns of violence and discrimination
- We know sex is different from gender. We just don’t give af about made up sexist bullshit. We support being gender non-conforming.
- DSD’s occur in the binary and you don’t have one
- No child is born in the wrong body, you disgusting cretins.
- It’s a fucking fetish, Janet!
Great thread so far.
So the gist of it is that the complainant manages to get the CPS to bring a case and that’s it.
The CPS look as incompetent as you would expect, bringing a half baked case that I assume they thought no one would challenge.
Yes another example of capitulating to a rotten ideology
Plenty of Australian MP’s, our national broadcaster @abcnews, and definitively our Sex Discrimination Commissioner, would affirm his delusions and defend his right to be sent to a women’s prison.
