The USMNT suddenly turned into one of the most complete team in international soccer as soon as we divided the game into four quarters. You connect the dots.
The fact that Cape Verde sent everyone forward in the 90th minute because they wanted to beat (NOT draw) Spain is everything that makes the World Cup beautiful.
What an incredible draw.
That Spain draw was pretty consequential because if they finish second in Group H, they'll probably face *Argentina* in the Round of 32. Now, a 37% chance of that matchup happening.
Cape Verde have a population the same size as Bristol
They’ve just held the European champions and World Cup favourites to a draw
In their first ever World Cup game
With a 40 year old in goal.
FOOTBALL 👏
I’m not in the rumors game anymore but I’ve said for over 3 years now that Pulisic was the big plan for MLS after the 2026 World Cup and I had been told recently CFG would like him as their star in NYC at their new stadium opening next year.
We will see if it happens but I feel pretty good about it! NYCFC
JUST A REMINDER.
Paraguay beat Brazil and Argentina and had the best defensive record in South American World Cup qualifying.
They just lost 4-1 to the USMNT in their opening match at the 2026 World Cup final.
