BBQ season is just beginning, and so is the increased fire risk from grilling.
Quick safety reminders:
• Keep grills at least 10 feet from buildings and decks
• Never leave flames unattended
• Check smoke and CO alarms before leaving home
• Keep a fire extinguisher nearby
Smartphone charging safety tips:
• Use only the original or certified charger and cable.
• Charge on a hard, flat, non-flammable surface: never on a bed or couch.
• Don’t leave your phone charging overnight.
• Watch for signs of trouble: heat, swelling, or odd smells

Adult CPR:
Call 911 right away.
Start chest compressions: push hard & fast in the center of the chest, 30 times, about 2” deep, to the beat of Stayin’ Alive. Then give 2 rescue breaths. Tilt the head back, pinch the nose, and breathe into their mouth for one second each. #cpr
Important NYC Fire Safety Note!
Building Information Card now required for NYC buildings over 125 feet with non-sequential flooring.
If your building’s floors are labeled 12, skips 13, and goes straight to 14, you now need a BIC according to NYC Fire Code Section 9.3.2.

Building Information Cards are required on all NYC Hi-Rise R-2 Residential buildings over 125’ that have Non-Sequential Flooring. This means if your building “skips” the 13th floor, you are required by NYC Fire Code to file a BIC to meet FDNY requirements. #firesafety#nyfsi
Children’s Fire Safety
1.Stop – Don’t run (running feeds oxygen to the fire and makes it worse)
2.Drop – Get to the ground
3.Roll – Roll over repeatedly to smother the flames
•Rolling cuts off oxygen, which fire needs to keep burning
