We cannot consider #AI to be morally neutral. In reality, every technical tool embodies choices and priorities through what it measures, ignores, and optimizes, and how it classifies people and situations. Ethical discernment cannot be limited to asking whether we are using a system for good or bad purposes. It must also examine how that system is designed and what vision of the human person and society is embedded in the data and models that guide it. #MagnificaHumanitas
“Billy, this is Alex Palou. He is one of the best drivers to have ever raced in Indycar. He has 4 championships in the last 5 seasons and is on course for a fifth.
His defect is that he has to pay a $12 million lawsuit settlement.”
Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas

@SethRorabaugh This is the second or third time I've seen it mentioned Muse was a history teacher. Has anyone ever asked him what his favorite era of history was to teach?
To borrow an example from another sport:
Red Bulls basically have Cade Cowell set up in the Alex Ovechkin spot on the power play and just feeding play through him to launch it into the mix.
Not sure I've seen him move from that spot.

@WarPigsChief@Concacaf Replace it one-for-one with Leagues Cup and cut "Round One" or make it a one-off tie. A mid season tournament with global implications sounds cool. Now it's in March (cold) *and* we gotta deal with "Round One", which is a noncompetitive joke
@AGretz I think ESPN is trying to treat ovechkin like LeBron. He's their hockey star and he takes priority over everything. Like that weird interview during the second intermission
I spent an afternoon with Evgeni Malkin going into his 20th NHL season, and he was in a great mood, funnier than ever.
“I understand it’s maybe last year, maybe two more years. I need to just play fun,” Geno said of his mindset.
