@Larry_D0g We actually just want reliable trucks that work. One of the first 7 year old "new" trucks went online last night at Greerton. Mechanic called out twice in first two hours of shift. Funny, you're commenting on the Scania post though... Also broken down! It's a #DireEmergency
NO LIGHTS. NO SIRENS. NO FIRE ENGINE. 🛑🚘
Avalon's aerial has broken down. With zero spares available, this pool Ute is what's left. Lower Hutt response times are already dangerously exposed. Why won't FENZ move proper appliances for career crews?
@Larry_D0g They started off as bread delivery trucks, never fire trucks & never fit for purpose. Never designed to take the weight & cracked. Intercoolers failed on every single truck - many multiple times. Now they've bought more of the same, no full warranty and already breaking down.
"It is time for real accountability." 🚨
Watch the highlights from Tony Sealey’s damning presentation to Parliament, where we put faces to the names of the FENZ executives dodging transparency.
@NZPFU Full forensic audit is needed. I was with the palmy crew on their first walkout, a firewoman on duty that day had tears in her eyes because she felt like she was failing her community, but understood the importance of the walk out. She was incredibly brave!
“A system running on fumes and luck.” 🚨
Watch NZPFU Palmerston North Local President Tony Sealey expose the dangerous abstraction of FENZ’s corporate spin directly to Parliament. Ticking boxes while leaving cities with zero ladder capability is gambling with public safety. 📉
@un_wellington The number of incidents differs every year, so a range is quoted. Just like saying an average of 10 incidents/day.
There's no benefit to under-represent or inflate numbers, it's well known that Auckland City is the busiest station in the country. Even FENZ doesn't dispute this.
Auckland Central firefighters protesting today right outside the empty bay where the city’s only Rescue Tender should be. 🚨📉
It broke down yesterday, was towed before the strike, and was still unavailable this afternoon. This empty bay is why we strike. ✊
As if the job wasn't dangerous enough. Man charged with assault after obstructing firefighters at a Lower Hutt bedroom blaze last night.

BREAKING: Parnell's high-reach ladder broke down, freezing mid-air & trapping crews in the basket. 🚨
Firefighters used emergency hydraulic bleed-down procedures to escape the failing truck, which is now stuck. The ultimate fleet rot nightmare. 🛑
OPINION: The Government was quick to celebrate new investments in ambulance services and Customs. Minister Casey Costello described it as a “big day” for frontline workers. But for firefighters, it was just another reminder that they remain at the bottom of the Government’s priority list.

Yesterday, Wgtn City & Newtown trucks were offline due to no staff.
FENZ says aerials are ‘observation towers’ - they're not wrong. Newtown’s crew observed areas FENZ can't reach in 5 mins because trucks were offline with no crew.
Today, Wgtn City & a Porirua truck are offline.
Fire & Emergency NZ continues to close Woolston Fire Station. The doors are shut again today because FENZ failed to employ enough firefighters to keep it open 24/7.
@un_wellington The missing fire truck responds to between 3,000 and 4,000 incidents per year. But yep, totally lots of sitting around when the truck doesn't even start. Need the truck to move to get to the fire eh
