Erosion is decimating Amaozalla – a community in Enugu. The area is known for its agricultural lands and hardworking population. Agriculture is the backbone of the local economy, with residents cultivating crops like cassava, pineapples, alongside small-scale livestock farming.

[NZUKO :: IgboHistory @NZUKOBrand]

Our recent short documentary, “Amaozalla is Sinking,” explores this community rich in cultural traditions and a robust agricultural economy, now ravaged by gully erosion. The natives share their personal and communal experiences of battling erosion over the years.

Thrilled to finally meet @nneamaka_orji in person, months after our first encounter. Even better, she let me take one of her pieces home. I can't wait to find the perfect spot for it. Thank you for sharing your art with the world, Agoziem.

'Akụkọ Mike Ejeagha' can mean folklore or “a cock and bull story.” If you grew up in the 90s/early 2000s in Igboland, you likely heard the phrase!
