@DrShaneRetiMP confirms the government’s intention to continue funding antivirals and vaccines beyond 30 June 2024.

Shane Reti stated there is NO change to eligibility criteria.

Pharmac advises that the Covid paediatric vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years is switching to the updated XBB.1.5 Pfizer vaccine on 30 May 2024.

No date yet for an update to the infant vaccine for < 5 year olds.

INFLUVAC TETRA (6m+) funded if eligible, made using eggs, surface antigen [SA] (contain proteins from only the surface of the flu virus)

FLUQUADRI (6m+) & AFLURIA QUAD (3+) unfunded, egg-based, split virion (contains proteins from both surface and inside of virus), may provide stronger immune response than SA but may have more side effects
