Four years on from Russia’s illegal and unprovoked invasion, New Zealand remains in steadfast solidarity with Ukraine. Today, New Zealand announced a further $8 million in humanitarian and reconstruction support for Ukrainian civilians and further sanctions to pressure Russia to end the war.

Russia’s indiscriminate & egregious attacks on Ukraine have inflicted significant damage, including on the Cabinet of Ministers building in Kyiv yesterday.

This latest attack is a direct affront to efforts to bring an end to the war.

-Recent US-brokered international engagement on the war in Ukraine.

The ICAO Council’s ruling that Russia is responsible for the downing of MH17 is a sad but historic moment in the pursuit of justice and accountability for the victims of this horrific act, and for their families and loved ones.
