I’m not a bestseller or rich and know everything could crumble at any moment, but I just spent a few days in NYC doing a book thing and hanging out with my agent, my editor, my NYT editor, readers, and friends. Dreams do come true. Keep going. You, me, everyone. Keep at it.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.
Remember that if someone reads your book and they talk shit to you about it, the best think you can do is ignore them and remind yourself that you wrote a book, got it published, and people are reading it, which is all kinds of awesome.
Writing: hard
Making it good: harder
Selling books: hardest
Staying positive day in and day out in a world full of haters, racists, misogynists, assholes, homophobes, predators, and other assorted wastes of oxygen: almost impossible
Writing is hard work. I respect those who do it. I don’t care about your level of success or how many books you sell, if you’re doing the thing and putting in the work, kudos to you.
I believe so deeply in my novel.
I spent the entire morning drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and submitting queries for this amazing book.
I know I’m not for everyone.
But someone.
Someone is going to love it as much as I do.
Cheers to perseverance #WritingCommunity.

In reading good fiction, you become aware that something is about to happen. You may think you know what it is. But when it happens, you are startled, even when it's what you thought it would be.
You are startled by the art of it.
Without such art, our lives are too easily read.
I’ve often used video games to procrastinate from writing. But I’ve actively been trying to avoid that lately. Today, I read GoldenEye, a game I grew up playing on N64, is coming soon to Xbox. If ever there were a ticking clock on my writing…😂😂 #gamer#writerlife
My short story, Hostile Environment is available on Amazon in @pixieforestpub’s anthology, Dark Descending! https://t.co/MBEJfP02qP
