My hot take is that the whole “if you can’t be profitable with $5k you can’t be profitable with $500k” is bull shit.
There is not enough flexibility to be wrong in a small account. You need to risk a much larger % of your account to buy similar options contracts. I understand the “decision making” perspective these people are probably going for, but realistically it is very difficult to grow a $5k account unless you’re already a professional imo. This is why every single furu on this app that runs a “$5k account challenge” gets blown up. 💀 they make their money from selling subs & from already having a large account.
I used to have a $5k account, blew it up. Started a $10k account, blew it up. Started again with another $10k, blew it up again. Took time to learn (position sizing, desirable strikes, etc.) put in $100k, been profitable since. I’ve had room to be wrong without losing half my account, and I’ve had the account size to size up into A+ opportunities.
Social media shows the trade gains, the progress pics, the wins. But it doesn't show the full story. You don't see the early mornings, the self-doubt, or the discipline it takes to keep showing up. What people choose to share is just a glimpse. There's a whole journey behind the post that you'll never fully see.
i saw a girl on tiktok who said “accountability is so important to me. nobody’s perfect, but don’t try to flip the script and make my reaction the issue when your actions lit the match” felt this to the core.
Most people won't support you at the start. Not because they hate you. But because they can't see what you see. They wait for proof. For applause. For others to believe first. If you want to build anything great, you have to master the skill of cheering for yourself. Because by the time the world finally gets it, you'll already have made your vision a reality.
