I haven't been able to really lock it down yet, but I very strongly suspect that being kind to women actually reduces arousal under some set of circumstances that are common in our current social structure.

I started noticing this right after I first got in shape and all the girls I was really nice to just smiled sweetly at me and wished me well, while all the ones I verbally sparred with and teased and sometimes even put down (skillfully) stuck to me like a magnet.

I don't get it quite well enough to explain it yet but I'll work on it. It's more than just "girls like it when you're mean" because not every kind of mean works.
