People keep saying, "Sometimes students offer themselves for grades."
Okay... and?
So because a student offers, the teacher is suddenly relieved of all responsibility? The adult becomes the victim? The person entrusted with authority, discipline, guidance, and moral instruction suddenly forgets right from wrong?
A teacher is not a random person on the street. A teacher holds power. A teacher controls grades, recommendations, opportunities, and sometimes a student's entire future.
If a student offers themselves and you accept, what exactly are you teaching? Integrity? Discipline? Respect? Accountability?
You stand in front of a classroom preaching values, then sneak behind closed doors to exploit the very people you're supposed to protect.
The excuse that "the student wanted it" is pathetic. Children and young people make poor decisions every day. That's precisely why adults are expected to know better.
The real question isn't why a student offered.
The real question is: Why did the teacher take it?
If your morals collapse because a student flirted, then you have no business being a teacher. You're not an educator. You're a predator hiding behind a profession that society trusted you to uphold.
As in Girls should learn to dress decently? To prevent sexual harassment and assault? That is an argument? In 2026? lol!
As a teacher in a position of Power, the duty falls squarely, directly, completely and solely on you to NOT SLEEP with STUDENTS!
Even if teenage girls have a crush or act stupidly like a YOUNG CHILD can, you as the Adult MUST STOP them!!
No ifs, no buts, No “oh but she brought herself”, No “ eeeii she’s nice oo” or any stupid excuse!
You are the Authority Figure!
Have self control and turn them down!
And if you choose not to, then YOU must face the full rigors of the Law!
In all this, I honestly can’t believe victim blaming, or minor blaming are conversations we are having in (the year of our Lord),2026?
I feel like the older you get, the more quiet you become. Life humbles you so deeply as you age. You realize how much nonsense you’ve wasted time on. You start to accept things for what they really are. You stop forcing friendships and connections with people and you just learn to grow.
