Dear $KAS & #NachoNation -

As one of the creators behind Nacho the Kat, I want to speak directly to the incredible community that has carried this project forward — to reflect, to express gratitude, and to reaffirm our shared mission.

From the beginning, $Nacho was inspired by a real cat — the beloved feline of Kaspa researcher Shai Wyborski @DesheShai. Shai’s early encouragement and support helped shape our project’s spirit. And in the same way that his technical research shaped so much of the Kaspa protocol itself - his integrity, his openness, and his warmth helped spark what would become a living, breathing movement within the #Kaspa ecosystem.

Recently, Shai made the difficult decision to step away from the Kaspa community — a choice rooted in a complicated moment of social friction that has surfaced across the ecosystem. I want to begin by saying: Thank you, @DesheShai. For everything. For your brilliance, your integrity, your efforts, your engagement, your passion for decentralized systems, and yes — for sharing Nacho with all of us.

I also want to make something absolutely clear to everyone:
The Nacho the Kat project is strong, growing, and entirely independent of any one person. It was inspired by a name — not bound by it. Our foundation, our contributors, our community, and our roadmap are all built on something much deeper: a commitment to Kaspa itself.

Over the past year, the Nacho community has delivered far more than memes or good vibes — though we’ve done that, too. We’ve shipped serious infrastructure:
🔹 Kat Pool — the first open-source Kaspa mining pool, complete with community rewards in both KAS and NACHO.
🔹 Kat Gov — a governance protocol and platform paving the way for truly decentralized decision-making in the ecosystem.
🔹 KatScan — a public-facing analytics platform for KRC tokens, made freely available to the community.
🔹 Moonbound — a launchpad that reimagines how tokens are launched and funded on L2, with permanent liquidity, smart constraints, and full decentralization.
��� The Kaspa Experience Berlin — a fully on-chain conference/festival powered entirely by KAS, built to showcase the strength of our ecosystem and community.

And that’s just the beginning. The momentum we carry is no accident — it’s the result of hundreds of builders, holders, creators, and believers giving their time, energy, and passion to this movement. Nacho the Kat is no longer just a token. It’s an ecosystem of tools, art, experimentation, and community-led development — we like to believe Nacho is a cultural symbol for Kaspa itself.

In light of recent events, the community initiated a small rebrand poll — a chance to explore evolving Nacho’s image to better reflect what the project has become. Regardless of its outcome, the message is the same: This project belongs to all of us now. It always has. And it always will.

Now, to zoom out a bit.

The tensions we’ve seen within Kaspa over the past few weeks may feel loud — even chaotic and potentially devastating. But this is nothing new in the history of decentralized innovation. Bitcoin’s early years were filled with passionate clashes, ideological divides, and moments of public uncertainty. The same is happening to Kaspa now. Why?

Because when you gather brilliant, driven people who all care deeply about a shared vision, conflict is inevitable. And that’s not a bug — it’s a feature.

Disagreement is part of the process. It means people care.

So to the broader community: stay grounded. These waves will pass. We’ll look back one day and remember this as just another chapter in the wild story of how Kaspa came to be. A blip — one that shaped us, taught us, and ultimately strengthened us.

And one final note, from me to you:
Please, as we navigate these moments together —
Avoid rushing to judgment.
Avoid assuming you have all the facts.
It’s easy to join the chorus of criticism when things are unclear. It’s harder — and far more meaningful — to look for the good.

With regard to Shai. Yonatan. Michael. Eyal. Chad. And so many others.

Whatever your opinions may be, I ask you to begin from a place of appreciation. Every one of them contributed something extraordinary to Kaspa. They did so with purpose, with care, and with love for the technology and its potential. That should never be forgotten — and it should always be honored.

I hope that someday, Shai feels excited and welcome to contribute again. And either way, I wish him nothing but happiness as he begins a new chapter with his wonderful new wife and — of course — his unforgettable cat.

We’ll keep building. We’ll keep contributing.
And we’ll keep showing the world what it means to be part of Nacho Nation — where community comes first, and where Kaspa’s future is something we all shape, together.

Kasplex will officially launch its L2 public testnet $kas this month, this is a huge milestone ahead of imminent mainnet.

This release introduces full EVM compatibility, a working faucet, and a growing set of developer tools, enabling builders to deploy smart contracts and test DeFi protocols in a live environment.

The testnet is not just a preview, it’s a critical phase for stress testing the network under real conditions.

We invite builders, infrastructure developers , and early adopters to actively engage, experiment, and help us push the limits of performance and reliability.

As expected with any testnet, small bugs or brief downtime may occur during ongoing upgrades and fixes.

Your feedback during this phase is invaluable as we refine and finalise the Kasplex platform. Please feel free to share it directly on our Telegram channel.
