Adam Merter Birson (One of the Member of Record Academy) :
“BTS ARMY should push for them to win Album of the Year, not be marginalized in a Best Asian Pop category. It’s great for smaller artists to get recognized, but BTS is way too big and important to fall into this trap”
@yjkive The whole point here is to keep the conversation goingstreaming Arirang and sharing it. BTS needs their fans. The vote may be cast by a few hundred or a few thousand people, but the impact that puts an artist in that conversation is created by millions.
Be louder ARMY. He is right. BTS deserves to be treated as equals to the artists they are actually competing with. We cannot let an attempt to box them in stand.

Tá na hora de vcs pararem de deixar k-popper vir com discurso sobre a qualidade artística dos trabalhos do BTS. Nenhum dos últimos trabalhos desses nugu, tem metade da aclamação crítica do Arirang.
“bts should win album of the year at the grammys instead of being put in the best asian pop category. bts is too big and important for this category. i think they should settle for nothing less than album of the year.” - recording academy member
Looking at some of the major albums releases, it's interesting to see the different stories artists are choosing to tell.
Love and relationships remain a dominant theme, but there are also albums centered on hope, healing, identity, cultural representation, belonging, and personal transformation.
Which of these themes do you find most compelling in music, and which album do you think has explored its ideas most effectively?

So among ARIRANG'S every single competition for grammy AOTY I only see ARIRANG which has a perfect balance bw commercial success & critical score.
This is why they are calling it THE STRONGEST contender for album of the year. Everybody needs to wake tf up.

We've had these sorta posters for RPWP, if we could make posters like these for Arirang as well, and spread across platforms. It'll be good promo sorta
When a recording academy voter is telling us to push for Album OTY, it means things are WAY better than we think or anticipate
Trust me. I've been watching every crumb of BTS grammy discussion since 2017 all sources. From the Best new artist mess, through discussions around Tear, first submissions, the recording package nomination, and every next year repeat. Things are DEFINITELY looking better compared to 2020-2022. When he says push for Album of the you, then we all push for Album of the year like there is no tomorrow.
BIinks stay embarrassing themselves in the quotes when the very humour of this segment is that hollywood celebs are made to read lyrics of songs like they're reading a script. They're supposed to be purposely tone deaf & keep a straight face coz that's literally the whole point.
“People think BTS is this big because of their industry plans. But that couldn't be further from the truth. K-pop didn't accept them, and hip-hop didn't accept them. So they went grassroots. History repeats itself. You can see the through line from D'Angelo to Outkast to now BTS. When a group is forced to curate their own world, they typically end up becoming one of the biggest. Because everybody wants to be on that world.”
