Was in Paris on Friday night and a handsome French man was flirting with me and I asked him what his name was and he said (very Frenchly) “Ah you will be disappointed” and I thought what a silly thing to say and then he said “it is Kevin” and you know what? I was disappointed.
finally got around to finishing The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, appalled to discover that I'm still capable of loving Bucky Barnes like a basic bitch from the year 2012 🫠
The worst of it is this made-up disorder has been used to discredit (mostly but not exclusively) women who live with protracted danger and make strategic decisions about how and whether to resist.
Jess Hill writes: Stockholm Syndrome is a myth invented to discredit women victims of violence, created by a psychiatrist with an obvious conflict of interest, whose first instinct was to silence the woman questioning his authority.

for some yall, your "i don't like Black trauma" books taste be seeped in self-hatred. bad, messy things ≠ trauma. don't like dark Blk stories? fine. but don't say you want Blk joy stories & nary one bought. then yall go pick up a monster breeding book or a Colleen Hoover book.
Crying for help is not something people do if they don’t need help. If you’re “seeking attention” it’s because you are lonely, or scared, or not okay. You need support and human connection. So why is society’s response to that scenario to withhold it!!?
The biggest change of viewpoint I ever went through in psych training was when I said “but what if they’re doing it for attention” and my supervisor was like “what’s wrong with needing attention?” and I realised I didn’t have an answer.
Husband spent all afternoon wrapping presents. He has now lost the television remote and is staring at the big mound of presents, wondering if he accidentally wrapped it.
