Every $1 invested in climate & clean-air action can return $15.

Through 25 measures, @UNEP report shows how coordinated action to tackle climate change & air pollution can deliver major eco., health & climate gains. The challenge now is implementation.

The child that is sick must be helped.
The orphan and the waif must be sheltered and succoured.
The child must be the first to receive relief in times of distress"

El Niño is being supersized before our eyes.

The science is clear: Sea surface temperatures are rising, temperatures keep climbing & the world is in the danger zone of extreme weather.

The race now is between rising risks & our commitment to take #ClimateAction & protect people.

We must win that race.

[Nadia Aftab @NadiaAftabS]

Having witnessed the devastating impacts of extreme weather on vulnerable communities in Pakistan, I strongly agree that this race must be won. Climate commitments must now translate into faster emissions reductions, stronger resilience, and sustained support for those already facing the consequences.

@Momalindi Best wishes

[António Guterres @antonioguterres]

Humanity is speeding towards a climate catastrophe.

That’s the stark warning from the latest @UNEP report.

Every fraction of a degree of warming will cost lives, deepen inequalities & push ecosystems closer to irreversible damage.

We must raise ambition, accelerate #ClimateAction & fight for humanity. NOW.

[UN Environment Programme @UNEP]

The planet will keep getting hotter, even with ongoing efforts to slow the temperature rise. But choices exist.

Every fraction of a degree prevented, and every year by which the overshoot period is shortened, will save lives, protect ecosystems, and reduce economic losses.

I genuinely wonder when we will stop turning women into punchlines and calling it harmless fun. ☕ @jamshedmkazi

An upscale coffee shop in Islamabad wants you to pay to prove which gender lies more. We already know who's been telling the truth about the wage gap, the workload, the double standards. Drop a ☕ if you've had enough of 'jokes' like this.

WHO is on the ground in #Nepal, responding to the devastating flash floods delivering emergency care, and supplies where they are needed most.

The tragedy in Nepal shows how suddenly glacial hazards can unfold. My deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones. Early warnings are vital, but we must also improve monitoring and predictive models for emerging risks.

The approval of the #Kalash Marriage Act by the KP Assembly is a powerful step towards recognising & protecting Pakistan’s rich indigenous heritage. By acknowledging the family laws of the #Kalash community, this legislation safeguards traditions & culture of 🇵🇰.
