Today, I passed out 11,947 UPDF recruits, including 1,002 from the Central African Republic (CAR), at Kaweweta. I congratulated them and reminded them that discipline, integrity, good health and rigorous training are the foundation of a capable army. In this Kisanja of No more Sleep, we must continue working hard.
Men. Youโre the priests of the high temple in your families. Gather everyone under your care and lead them into prayer or meditation. God will be happy with you and will grant your prayer requests.
Yesterday in #Bunia, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo held a high-level bilateral meeting, bringing together the Government of Uganda and the leadership of Ituri Province to reinforce coordinated action against the Ebola outbreak.
Discussions focused on how technical teams deployed from Uganda will work alongside their counterparts in the DRC to strengthen response efforts, address operational gaps, and enhance cross-border coordination.
The engagement builds on the recently signed bilateral agreement between the two countries, reaffirming their shared commitment to work together towards ending the outbreak and protecting communities on both sides of the border.

Very true. It is sad to lose patients for conditions that are manageable if they present early or stay in care. They believe in quick fixes even when taken through thorough counseling .
We had bilateral engagements today in Bunia with the leadership of the DRC, represented by the Governor of Ituri Province. The discussions focused on how the technical teams from the DRC and Uganda will work together to strengthen the response, address any existing gaps in line with the recently signed bilateral agreement, and collaborate in other practical areas to bring the ongoing Ebola outbreak to an end as quickly as possible.
We thank the Governor and the Government of the DRC for the warm reception, strong collaboration, and commitment demonstrated throughout the engagements.
Today we started a three-day @MinofHealthUG Top Management Retreat to align the leadership on the strategic direction of the health sector, build consensus on priorities for the next five years, and strengthen collaboration and teamwork.
The retreat is also focusing on practical solutions to health workforce challenges, improving supervision of health facilities, scaling up health sector digitization, expanding Community Health Extension Services and strengthening leadership and accountability across the sector as we work towards a stronger, more resilient, and people-centred health system.
Happy Birthday to our Immediate Past President, @tina_wamala . Your service, leadership, and passion for advancing the PR profession continue to inspire practitioners across the country.
A bigger team of medics, two mobile laboratories, and logistics support is also en route to the DRC to join the Ebola fight. This joint Uganda-DRC initiative aims to strengthen the cross-border Ebola response by reducing the movement of Ebola patients into Uganda seeking care, curbing cross-border transmission, and ending the outbreak sooner.
