THE TIME FOR ISIOLO IS NOW: STANDING AGAINST INJUSTICE
Yesterday, we convened a Doctors’ Kamkunji in Isiolo County, standing shoulder to shoulder with our colleagues as they spoke with courage and painful honesty about the injustices imposed on them by the County Government. What is happening on the ground is not merely a breach of labour laws, it is a direct assault on professional dignity and human rights.
We heard disturbing accounts of:
1. Career Stagnation – Promotions delayed or denied for years, eroding morale and professional growth.
2. Medical Exclusion – Doctors without medical cover, unable to access the very services they provide to the public.
3. Financial Sabotage – Non-remittance of statutory deductions—pension, SHA, PAYE, loans, and SACCO—pushing doctors into financial distress.
4. Precarious Employment – Contract terms that openly contravene our Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
5. A Culture of Fear – Political interference and workplace intimidation undermining professionalism.
6. System Collapse Risk – A critical shortage of doctors, including a situation where a single surgeon remains on call 24/7.
7. Chronic Salary Delays – Persistent late payments causing immense personal and family hardship.
Despite the deep frustration and exhaustion expressed by doctors in Isiolo, there is renewed hope in the strength of union solidarity under the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union. Our members understand that dignity is not granted, it is defended collectively.
These injustices cannot be normalized. The time for patience has expired.
Accordingly, the Union has formally declared a dispute with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and we are citing the County Government for contempt of court for failing to honour the Return-to-Work Formula (RTWF) of May 8, 2024. We are now moving in deliberate and lawful escalation toward a full industrial strike in Isiolo County.
We shall leave no doctor behind.
The time for Isiolo is now.
We are stronger together.
In Solidarity,

Justice Delivered: A Decisive Victory for Doctors in Nandi County
Yesterday evening, the Union held a high-level consultative engagement with the Nandi County Government, led by His Excellency Governor Stephen Sang, alongside the Deputy Governor, the County Secretary, Chief Officers for Health and Finance, and members of the County Public Service Board.
The Union was robustly represented by both National and Branch leadership, highliighting the seriousness and urgency of the issues under discussion.
The constructive and results-oriented meeting deliberated on three key agenda items, with the following outcomes:
1. Promotion of Doctors
In a firm and unequivocal commitment, the County Government agreed to the immediate promotion of all doctors on the list presented by the Union. These promotions will be effected and reflected in the March payslips as follows:
Job Group R to S: 4 doctors
Job Group N/P to Q: 8 doctors
Job Group M to N: 3 doctors
2. Doctors on Contract
The County committed to issuing appointment letters to all 14 doctors currently on contract. Further, the County undertook to progressively transition all affected doctors to Permanent and Pensionable (PNP) terms until full absorption is achieved.
3. Postgraduate Training
In recognition of the importance of career progression and specialist training, the County has already released two doctors for postgraduate training in January 2026, with additional releases planned in the next financial year.
This outcome marks a significant step forward in the Union’s relentless pursuit of fairness, dignity, and justice for doctors.
In our unwavering commitment to equity, we shall leave no doctor behind, one county at a ltime.
Unity remains our greatest strength.
Long live the Union!

Kiambu Doctors: The Strike of Our Lives Begins May 26!
For 21 days, we waited. We gave notice. We spoke clearly. But Kiambu County responded with silence—no meeting, no dialogue, no intention to resolve the crisis they’ve created. This is not just negligence; it’s contempt—for doctors, for healthcare workers, and for the people of Kiambu.
Now, we rise.
On May 26, 2025, Kiambu doctors will down their tools in what will be the strike of our lives. We call on all our members to begin discharging and referring patients. The time for waiting is over. The time for action is now.
This is not just a strike—it is a reclaiming of our dignity, our rights, and the future of healthcare in this county. We will not negotiate through silence. We will not accept being treated as expendable.
To the County Government: If you will not come to the table, we will meet you on the picket line.
To the people of Kiambu: This fight is for you too. A healthcare system that disrespects its doctors is a system that fails its people. Stand with us, as we have always stood with you.
United we bargain, divided we beg.
It’s now or never.
We are stronger together.

The Ruto-Gachagua BS is the kind of BS I never signed up for.
Both are underwhelming.
Both are annoying.
I hope Ruto is the lowest we will ever go.
That man is criminally incompetent.
Nothing that comes out of his mouth that is Presidential.
Nothing he does is statemanly.
Nothing about him that shows us he is an adult of sound mind, sane enough to drive the country.
He has zero self-awareness, surrounded by cowards, who don't better, cheered on by opportunists.
If you truly intend to vote for Ruto in 2027, you have no right to complain about his incompetence in 2028.
Ruto is a Kenyan tragedy.
He has no redeeming quality.
Not even one.
I used to think that Uhuru was worse.
Man.
Love and hug your kids and save your progeny the Ruto types in the future.
He has ruined two generations of Kenya.
Every minute he will be a president, he sinks Kenya lower, and lower. It will take us two decades to get out of the hole.
I don't care about your opinion.
If you support him in any way, you are THE PROBLEM! YOU ARE WRONG And YOU MUST GO WITH HIM TOO!!
Attended a two day Cross border meeting organized by IGAD between the Turkana and karamokong pastoralists, Leaders and CSOs in Naput, Moroto to deliberate on Resource Sharing and Transhumance Mobility of pastoralists leading to the formation of peace & rangelands committees.
Over the past weeks, our @kmpdu members have been treated to embarrassing situations where they go to hospitals and can not get the care that they need due to suspension of their comprehensive medical scheme.
This is despite them having paid not just the SHIF contributions but also the Public Officers Medical Fund.
This begs the question, WHERE IS THE MONEY?WHO IS CHEWING OUR MONEY?
These questions will have to be answered on 18th of March by @_shakenya@PSCKenya@MOH_Kenya@KeTreasury and @MOH_Kenya .
We invite the members of the @NPSOfficial_KE to join us because they are also suffering.
The government has once again shown where its priorities lie...According to the budget policy statement tabled for 2025/2026, Parliament has proposed an additional Sh7 billion for MPs while slashing the health budget - the most reduced sector in the entire budget. This is a slap in the face of doctors, nurses, and millions of Kenyans who rely on an already strained healthcare system. How can we provide quality care when hospitals lack basic supplies, medics face delayed salaries, and our working conditions continue to deteriorate?
The health of Kenyans should be the first priority—not political luxuries. We demand immediate action to restore and increase funding for healthcare!
This isn’t about unity; it’s about survival. The so-called ‘new chapter’ is just a desperate power deal to protect the elite while ordinary Kenyans struggle. Where was this ‘inclusive vision’ when taxes were hiked, cost of living skyrocketed, and promises were broken? We see through the facade!
Look here @MOH_Kenya ,STOP the games you are playing with medical interns' salary arrears!! DO NOT make promises you can not keep coz you make us look like liars!Treasury released the money, why are you frustrating the young drs?Don't you also like industrial harmony?? Remember @DeboraBarasa@psmuthoni@KimtaiHarry
