Eastern Illinois’ Nakyel Shelton has earned Lou Henson National Player of the Week honors. The 6-foot-3 senior helped @eiubasketball to a pair of @OVCSports wins last week, averaging 26.5 points, 3 steals and 2 blocks per contest. Shelton had 28 points, 3 blocks and 2 steals on Saturday against first place Southeast Missouri State.

The 2025 Lou Henson National Player of the Year award will be announced in April in San Antonio, site of the 2025 men’s NCAA basketball championship.
