@kunalkamra88 !
We don’t celebrate Kamra enough Because this level of courage isn’t relatable!
And because of h, in future, there will be jokes, there will be art.
“Apolitical” people are reacting with shock & horror at murders that happened after identifying one’s religion, and after making one chant a religious slogan.
As if they don’t know that the same kind of violence and murder happens across their Devbhoomi Bharat almost every week.
"Price of Unspoken Joke"
Meet Nalin Yadav, a 28-YO stand-up comedian from Indore, whose quick wit used to ignite laughter in dimly lit clubs.
In 2020, he was a rising star, sharing stage with emerging comedian like Munawar Faruqui and others.
They were set to perform at a local venue at Indore in Jan 2021, when right-wing groups, led by Eklavya Gaur—the brash son of a BJP MLA—stormed the club like a pack of wolves. Their rage wasn’t even aimed at Nalin; it was Munawar’s past jokes that had lit the fuse.
The police arrived, not as saviors but as enforcers of the mob’s will.
They dragged Munawar away for jokes he hadn’t even told that night. Nalin with two others was shoved into a Police van, before they could process anything.
Bail came after two months, but freedom didn’t. The city that once cheered him now turned its back. Club owners started averting their eyes “pressure from above.”
Right-wing whispers branded him anti-national, a troublemaker, a pariah. The stage—his lifeline—was ripped away, and with it, his livelihood.
At 26, Nalin found himself trading punchlines for a factory job in Pithampur to earn ₹200-300 a day.
After blowing up his career, they came after his mother's home and younger brother.
Over four years, the assaults piled up like unpaid bills, each one leaving a new scar—on his body and life. More than four FIRs filed at the police station at Pithampura, were ignored.
The local corporator, a hulking man tied to the ruling party, became the architect of his misery. He didn’t just target Nalin—his brother bore the bruises too, their small home a battleground.
“Leave or bleed,” the message was clear.
Nalin tried fighting back, trudging to the police station. But the officers’ eyes were cold, their words evasive.
Last night, a burning tire hit their roof, flames licking the logs stacked there. Nalin fought back; a mob answered, beating him and his brother, who rushed to his side.
He ran pillar to post for hours to lodged an FIR at Pitampura Sector 1 PS, until he made desperate calls to his friends and well-wishers.
Now, at 28, Nalin stands at the edge of a life he never chose.
Nalin committed no crime, yet dignity slips through his fingers. The price of an unspoken joke has been his stage, his peace, his home and his innocent brother.
I hope the Madhya Pradesh Police (@DGP_MP@ips_kmak) will extend a hand putting end to his misery, and shield him from this relentless harasment and assault.
the unshakable unity and resilience of the people of India. Despite political differences, they came together for a cause that truly matters. This reaffirmed my belief that when Indians unite, they can overcome any challenge
Although I am a comedian, it is not my job to speak on such matters. However, what I witnessed today was nothing short of soul-shaking. Thousands of people in Pithampur gathered and blocked the highways in protest. Let me share the context: the toxic waste from Union Carbide,
by any political party, organization, or funding. With no support from national media, these people stood united, fighting for their lives and their future.
As I watched this, I felt an overwhelming sense of duty to speak up. This was not just a protest; it was a testament to
been approved.
Today, the people of Pithampur—women, children, and citizens from all walks of life—took to the streets to protect their city. They blocked highways, and some even attempted self-immolation in desperation. What struck me most was that this protest was not fueled
central government, even when BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh. Back then, people protested successfully against this move. But now, with the BJP in power at both the state and central levels, the resistance seems to have been crushed, and the decision to burn the waste in Pithampur has
linked to the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, is being transported 200 kilometers from Bhopal to Pithampur for disposal. This waste is so hazardous that it has been rejected six times by the courts and authorities.
The company responsible, Ramki, was denied approval under the Congress-led
Recall replacement order placed 9 months ago, when they gave a 6 week estimate.
No delivery so far, customer service is not even responding.
@BlendJet do you even care? How is 9 months acceptable when you promised 6 weeks?
