Today, I chaired the meeting of @Parliament_Ug Committee on East African Community Affairs in which we had an interaction with the Minister of State for East African Community Affairs. Hon Magode Ikuya. The purpose of the meeting was to understand the ongoing Ministry's programs and challenges they are facing so as to forge a way forward on how best we can work together to achieve our shared vision. We had a fruitful engagement with the team and we are optimistic that we shall walk the journey of EAC Integration together!

In our engagement with the officials from @MEMD_Uganda, I raised the issues affecting Kagadi District especially regarding Muziizi dam which was completed long ago, a power station constructed but the communities around have no power connection at all. The Ministry promised to furnish us with information in regards to the ongoing projects & the upcoming ones so that we see how our communities can benefit

Earlier today, Public Accounts Committee where Iam a member interacted with officials from the @MEMD_Uganda, @uetcl and the various companies that are running power transmission projects in the country. The purpose of the meeting was among others to ascertain why there are delays with many power transmission projects with some projects having poles that were left abandoned for years without wires & transformers. The officials answered some of our queries while they also promised to improve in areas where there are gaps. We tasked the Ministry to address all these issues!

There is one thing I admire about Gen @mkainerugaba; he loves his country & all his heart is in Uganda. He is Not extravagant, not luxurious & Just simple & ever focused!

If many of you were privileged to be first sons as Gen MK is, you would be doing shopping in London, Paris, Dubai, New York etc, you would be flying first class to watch international football matches for Premier legue, World cup etc. Just look into lifestyles of most first families in Africa, you will see luxury & opulance! Did you know Timothy Weah, son of former Liberia President George Wear plays football for USA?

Look at Gen Muhoozi, if he ever travels, he will either go to Rwanda, South Africa, Egypt or a few African countries. Even then he may travel once or twice in a year. He is always wearing @MODVA_UPDF uniform or ordinary outfits just like his father H.E @KagutaMuseveni . These people are naturally gifted, all they do is for Uganda!

HE President @KagutaMuseveni has laid a strong foundation for Uganda's stability and development. Building on that foundation, the @Plumedia1 is mobilizing citizens to strengthen patriotism, close existing gaps, and accelerate national transformation. Uganda is truly destined for greatness. 🇺🇬

I thank the Government of Uganda for putting this initiative for national cleaning & every Ugandan should support it. Why should you expect Government to do everything for you including cleaning your neighborhood? You liter garbage everywhere, liter buveera or plastic bottles etc & then want government to do the cleaning?

Its surely in the spirit of patriotism that we should all support sush efforts. Otherwise if you can't spare one hour to clean your neighborhood, why should you expect a leader to often use his or her personal resources to fix dysfunctional bore holes in your constituency?
