@SavvyFarmgirl For kids that have made the choice themselves to change.. schools need to keep them safe. Not every parent is accepting. Not every parent will still provide love & support. A child knows their family better than anyone else. Keep the child safe. Let them decide if/when they tell.

@cousinteena @CraigBaird There is a lot of information that was hidden from us. Residential schools didn’t close until 1996, and Day schools continued until 2000. The sixties scoop is all part of this. There is so much unlearning to be done, or relearning of our Canadian history.

As someone that is a DV survivor, having the communication from the officer, knowing how far away they are when your ex is pounding on your door trying to break it down is reassuring knowing they are almost there when you are scared for your life.
