The greatest reward of success isn’t what you acquire, but who you become.
You become someone you’re proud of: principled, disciplined, committed to growth, resilient, and confident. Someone you respect when you look in the mirror.
That’s worth more than any material possession.
Why are women always expected to sacrifice a lot of things just because they're married?
My friend, an accountant, had been dreaming of working at this company even before she got married.
After having her first child, she got into the company after years of trying, and everyone was happy for her.
Six years later, her boss and everyone she had worked with nominated her for a promotion, and she got it.
She was promoted to the head office with 5x what she earned before.
The office was 8 hours away from where she stays.
She's only going to work for 3 days, and she was given a place to stay.
But her husband said, "I'm not telling you not to take the promotion, but who do you expect to take care of the kids and me when you're gone"
She offered to make food for him and keep it in the freezer and also take the kids to her parents, but he said no. He wants them under his roof.
She offered to bring her younger sister into the house, and he said he doesn't want a stranger in his house.
If you're my friend, what will you do?
Will you sacrifice a promotion you worked hard for or sacrifice your marriage?
I want to be known for the depth of my thoughts, the rigour of my reasoning, the questions I dare to ask, and the ideas I bring into the world.
I want my mind to be as worthy of attention as my appearance.
I want to be judged by my intellectual vigour, not my beauty.
A guy on TikTok is doing a story time about how his wife cheated with his best friend on their wedding day and tried to kill him.
Women in the CS are asking what he did to provoke her😂😂😂
One said he should connect to NSPPD and pray for her.
Another said men of these days are no longer like our fathers that’s why marriages are failing.
Somebody said maybe the wife is tired of eating only okro 😂😂😂
I don laugh tire.
The guy also mentioned that she helped him financially in their final year and one lady said he shouldn’t expect loyalty from a woman who spends on him😂😂
A new study found that husbands whose wives earn more are significantly more likely to report mental distress.
And do you want to know what's worse? In those same relationships, she is more likely to do more housework to compensate for his distress and to make him feel.less threatened.
She earns more and does more at home. He earns less and does less at home.
And we are writing studies about his distress.
Perhaps it’s just peer pressure isn’t inherently good or bad; it depends on where it leads you.
Surround yourself with people whose standards challenge you to become better. The right people won’t just celebrate your potential; they’ll hold you accountable for it.
Some men don’t want a wife. They want a woman who will play the role of a wife while they continue living like a bachelor.
Cook for me. Clean for me. Raise my children. Be loyal to me. Understand me. Support me financially when necessary. Satisfy me sexually.
But don’t question me. Don’t expect too much. Don’t disturb my peace.
They want a woman to carry the responsibilities of marriage while they enjoy the freedom of being single.
And when she finally gets tired, they call her selfish.
I wonder how many women died because men raped them right after giving birth and she got an infection but it was excused away as her dying from childbirth complications.
I had an abortion when I was 25, and I want to talk about why.
The pregnancy wasn’t the result of rape or failed contraception. I wasn’t struggling financially. My relationship wasn’t falling apart, and there were no medical complications with me or the pregnancy.
I simply didn’t want a child.
I knew that bringing a baby into my life wasn’t what I wanted, so I chose to end the pregnancy.
I also wanted to be sterilized. I sought a salpingectomy, but I was denied because I was considered too young and didn’t have children.
Apparently, I was old enough to know that I wanted children someday, but not old enough to know that I didn’t want them at all.
Eventually, my partner got a vasectomy without any issues.
Three years later, we’re still together. I don’t regret my abortion. I don’t carry shame, grief, or trauma over it.
If anything, the only time I think about that decision is when I imagine how unhappy I might be today if I’d been forced to continue a pregnancy I never wanted.
I’m not sharing this to glorify abortion or tell anyone else what decision to make.
I’m sharing it because not every abortion story involves poverty, abuse, medical emergencies, or a relationship falling apart.
Sometimes, a person simply doesn’t want to become a parent.
And I believe people should be able to speak honestly about their experiences without being expected to perform grief, regret, or shame to make others comfortable.
APC has stunted Nigeria’s growth so badly that we’re no longer just lagging behind developed countries anymore, we’re now falling behind our African neighbours, too.
Rwanda is set to host the African Grand Prix, Morocco will co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, while we are still battling insecurity and struggling to provide 24/7 electricity in 2026!!!
I’m sorry I try often to defend men and genuinely believe we need to encourage masculinity, marriage, & traditional family values
But when a guy messages me saying he wants to meet a woman with traditional family values that “isn’t ran through” I cannot take the request sincerely
You can absolutely want a woman who isn’t wild & into partying
But if you don’t know how to speak to/about women in a respectful way, you aren’t going to appeal to the ones you want
