Electrochemical aptamer-based sensors work really well in-vivo, but they rely on mm-long wires to get enough signal. We teamed up with the Plaxco lab @ucsantabarbara to figure out how to miniaturize them… 🧵
Our super-cool spectrometer work in Science is out! This is going to define the field! Always a great fun to work with @ZhipeiSun. @cambridge_ee@AaltoUniversity@Cambridge_Eng@ChurchillCol Miniaturized spectrometers with a tunable van der Waals junction https://t.co/tFDghVwDe5
Want to design a VOC #sensor with a completely new #nanostructure design? Join @NanoEngCam for a 3-year PDRA position: Research Assistant/Associate in Gas Sensor Materials and Designs (Fixed Term) @cambridge_ee@GrapheneUCam https://t.co/14U3poYjxr
Was so nice to meet our former @NanoEngCam (HNE) graduate @LeonardNGWT, good friends Doojin Vak and Mei Gao (not in the photo) today at @CSIRO Clayton, Melbourne!
We are delighted to introduce our recent work on how to control the surface of graphene-based printed aerogels. For the first time, we have revealed the factors that enable us to regulate the surface porosity. https://t.co/BiKQTkB6yj

Very honored to be named a Highly Cited Researcher 2021 by @ClarivateAG. Fortunate to have brilliant students, collaborators, colleagues & mentors. Thank you for giving our research a home @Cambridge_Eng@GrapheneUCam@ChurchillCol#HighlyCited2021 https://t.co/vslGorHYKm
We mark a major step towards normalcy in our labs & offices today. And before that, we had a fantastic retreat with cart racing @redlodgekarting and dinner at Navadhanya as we prepare for the next two months of research. The race winners also got trophies and prizes 😀 #retreat
Tom’s fantastic PhD thesis in this beautiful green color 😍. Contains all his nano-fabrication wizardry for the nanowire spectrometer paper in Science. Thesis approved in 2019 and finally the hard bound copy is here.
A treasure trove of papers and objects belonging to Prof #StephenHawking has been acquired by @theUL and @sciencemuseum.
So three of the most important scientific archives of all time – #Newton, #Darwin & Hawking – are now at Cambridge University Library!

Delighted that our Shouhu has now completed his PhD on inkjet printing of 2D crystals on flexible and rigid substrates. He completed his work and left during the pandemic. He has already started working in China to promote advanced industrial applications. Congrats Dr Liu!
In honor of #InternationalWomensDay we'd like to highlight CU Womxn in Engineering Society @CUWEngSoc. If you are a CU postgrad or postdoc in engineering, check out their bi-weekly coffee mornings to connect with your peers, open to anyone regardless of gender identity.
