🗽✏️ Writing in action!
We explored the Statue of Liberty using a role on the wall to build a shared word map, then the children used this language to write independent sentences in their books. Great teamwork, focus, and descriptive writing today! 🌟📚

Our fabulous Statues of Liberties last week during our America topic! We’re looking forward to creating some Australia inspired art soon 🇦🇺 @nantcelynschool
As part of our topic Passport to the World, we’ve moved continents and started exploring Australia! We tried an Aussie delicacy — fairy bread — and it’s fair to say it went down a treat! 😋✨

🌍 As part of Passport to the World, the children learned about continents and which countries belong to each one. Using atlas maps, Google Maps and a fun 7 continents song, they practised new vocabulary like Africa, Asia and Europe. Brilliant map skills! 🗺️✨

💙 As part of our Passport to the World topic, yesterday we learnt about Martin Luther King Jr. and why his message of kindness, fairness and equality is so important — especially for our children with autism. A powerful part of our learning about America 🌍✨

Cooking up some American classics! As part of our topic Passport to the World, the children enjoyed making American pancakes and decorating them with lots of tasty toppings. So much fun (and delicious learning!) all round! 🌟😋

🌧️ Wet play? Who cares! 📚
One of our brilliant learners chose to read a story to their friends while we waited for the rain to pass — such a lovely moment of kindness and friendship 💛✨

🌍 We’ve been deep diving into our topic Passport to the World and learning how to use Google Maps to explore famous landmarks in America. The children loved discovering new places and building their map skills! 🗺️✨

🗽 As part of our topic Passport to the World – “Welcome to America”, we made Statue of Liberty crowns! While creating them, we explored early fraction language, learning how to cut shapes into halves, quarters and eighths. Fantastic work everyone! ✂️👑✨

The children enjoyed a very special visit from Santa today! 🎅✨ They proudly told him how good they’ve been and were lucky enough to receive an early Christmas treat of chocolate coins in return — how lucky are they! 🍫🎄
