Dr. William Rogers Busulwa – Alumni Profile .

Dr. William Rogers Busulwa is a veteran public health physician and alumnus of Makerere University, MBChB 1989 and MMed Community Practice 1995, and LSHTM/LSE, MSc Health Policy, Planning and Financing 1999. He chose Community Practice/Family Medicine to enhance both his clinical and public health skills.

With over 30 years of experience, his career includes two years at JCRC on a research study, one year in Rwanda as District Medical Officer, five years in Yemen as Public Health Advisor and freelance consultant, and almost 20 years with WHO EMRO Region supporting Sudan, South Sudan, and Somalia.

Currently transitioning into retirement, he remains passionate about improving healthcare access, education, history, and understanding culture. His career reflects a lifelong dedication to primary health care, health systems strengthening, and service in complex humanitarian environments.

1. Results from reactivation of the Varicella-zoster virus infection in the facial nerve.
2. Signs &symptoms: facial paralysis, painful rash in/on or around the ear of the affected side (with or without hearing loss, tinnitus and vertigo) and changes in taste or dry eyes.
3. It is a differential diagnosis of Bell's palsy.

🔹 Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among 15–29-year-olds.
🔹 73% of global suicides happen in low- and middle-income countries.
Many suicides happen impulsively during a moment of crisis.

💡 Yet, suicide is preventable with timely, evidence-based interventions.

If you are worried that someone is at risk of suicide, _here is what you can do:_
💛 Talk to them about how they are feeling
💛 Encourage them to seek help
💛 Check in with them regularly
💛 If they are in immediate danger, contact the emergency services and do not leave them alone
