This is the Belfast I love - joyful, musical, talented and vibrant. A colourful tapestry woven in diversity and all the richer for it.

The latest Red Lines. @MarkCarruthers7 talks to @KateNicholl about her political journey and influences.

@NickDMathison And Engineering? It's utter madness. If they are serious about STEM, dropping the E rather than investigating why take-up is low ought to be the way forward.
@scott_jamison Woah?! Chapter? You can read?? 🤣🤣🤣
All the best for whatever the future holds. You're one of a kind...😂
Genuinely, you'll be missed. Don't be a stranger!
The Justice Minister, @naomi_long, is pleased to have been able to support this important piece of work.
Anyone can be a victim of domestic abuse and it is important men know they can speak up and get the help they need.
Congratulations to everyone receiving their GCSE results today🎉
Remember whatever your results, they don’t define you.
You should be proud of how far you’ve come!💛
@markpur24917136 Show me where I haven't? More legislation than any other Minister, prisons rated among the most effective in the UK, bew protections for victims of hate crime, sexual & domestic violence, and investment in communities to tackle paramilitarism & from proceeds of organised crime.
Blaming the Executive for internecine warfare in the UUP underscores the SDLP Opposition are a one trick pony.
This isn't about the Executive or the structures, and I say that as someone who called for reform while the SDLP were still defending the structures they designed.
Statement on the resignation of Mike Nesbitt.
I wish Mike well, but tonight's news is a deep indictment of our politics in general, and the antics of the new UUP leader in particular.
@DSMooney@niexecutive@LucidTalk No, I've never said that because it clearly isn't true.
It would be as patently false as blaming the Executive for a row within the UUP.
We've been clear the current structures are unsustainable since long before others were willing to countenance change.
@sohanlondev@MatthewOToole2 I don't mind that - hard work is part of the job description. But I do wish that the narrative that all politicians do nothing/don't care got more challenge.
Matthew and I may disagree on issues, but I don't doubt he cares about delivery and better government.
@sohanlondev@MatthewOToole2 Perhaps because, rather than objectively assess progress, it's easier to vilify all politicians as useless these days?
I do get it - people are genuinely frustrated at the pace of change. I am, too. But it's not "nothing": it's just grindingly slow hard work to make progress.
"Support is available; speaking up is the first step in the road to recovery"
Justice Minister @naomi_long urges victims to come forward as the PSNI launches a campaign raising awareness of male domestic abuse, which was part funded by the Department of Justice.
@BeechviewBoy Partly, but false narratives need challenged. Framing this latest UUP debacle as a failure of the Executive is utterly disingenuous. The SDLP were in the Executive when the DUP went through 3 leaders in as many months in the last mandate. Are they saying that was their fault?
@sohanlondev@MatthewOToole2 That's just legislation: NI prisons are now among the top performing in the UK and lots of policy decisions I've made have ensured that, despite reduced budget share, we're delivering more.
Not saying the Executive is perfect, but "It's delivered nothing" is just false and lazy.
@sohanlondev@MatthewOToole2 I've introduced sexual offences legal advisors for adults & children, criminalised upskirting, downblousing & cyber flashing, plus non fatal strangulation. Additional support for victims is before the Assembly for agreement - but I've already tightened protections in SO cases.>
@MatthewOToole2 Will it impact the Executive? Yes, it will.
Is the Executive collectively to blame for infighting in the UUP? No, not in the slightest, and the inference that we are is beyond silly.
It actually undermines any genuine criticism of the Executive you might have.
